With the aim of providing students with opportunities to engage with industry and orient their careers in process automation control and mechanical structures, on March 24, 2026, a delegation of 30 students from the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (FEEE), Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), participated in a field trip to PIMA Co., Ltd. Led by M.Sc. Nguyen Ho, the group visited the company’s factory located in Hai Son Industrial Cluster, My Hanh Commune, Tay Ninh Province. PIMA is known as the first company in Vietnam to manufacture PVC plastic products on an industrial scale for export.
At the beginning of the visit, students had the opportunity to explore the PVC board production workshop, which utilizes advanced extrusion technology. This is one of the company’s most modern production lines, imported from leading global automation manufacturers. In addition, students directly observed the fabrication and shaping processes of plastic doors, kitchen cabinets, and bedroom furniture through the flexible automated manufacturing systems currently applied by the company. Continuing the program, representatives from the company’s Human Resources Department provided detailed information about recruitment programs, engineer selection criteria, as well as the professional skills and personal qualities sought in engineering students, especially those majoring in Mechatronics Engineering and Control and Automation Engineering. This helped students gain a clearer understanding of the connection between academic knowledge and real-world applications in a high-tech industrial environment. The program concluded with an interactive Q&A session between students and company representatives, where various questions regarding career opportunities, development pathways, and working environments were openly discussed, offering practical insights and strong inspiration.
At the end of the visit, representatives of the Faculty presented a commemorative gift to PIMA Co., Ltd. as a token of sincere appreciation. In return, the company presented helmets manufactured by the company to each student. This field trip not only broadened students’ knowledge in the field of automation but also served as a valuable opportunity for them to better prepare for entering a professional working environment in the future.
