Seminar on “Trends in Integrated Photonics and Optical Computing in the Era of Artificial Intelligence”
On the morning of July 29, 2026, the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Ton Duc Thang University, organized a seminar entitled "Trends in Integrated Photonics and Optical Computing in the Era of Artificial Intelligence" at the Tan Hung Campus. The event attracted the participation of numerous faculty members, graduate students, and undergraduate students of the Faculty.
The seminar was delivered by Dr. Gaurav Kumar Bharti, a Collaborative Researcher of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, who is currently affiliated with the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Bhopal, India. During the seminar, Dr. Gaurav Kumar Bharti presented an overview of the latest developments in Integrated Photonics and Optical Computing amid the rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI). His presentation highlighted recent research achievements, key technical challenges, and the application potential of photonic technologies in enhancing computing performance, improving energy efficiency, and meeting the ever-increasing data processing demands of next-generation AI systems. In addition, he introduced emerging research directions that are gaining significant global attention, creating new opportunities for collaboration in electrical and electronics engineering as well as semiconductor technologies.
Beyond providing participants with up-to-date technical knowledge, the seminar also served as an academic forum where faculty members and students engaged in discussions on advanced research topics and exchanged ideas and experiences in related fields. These academic interactions contributed to strengthening the Faculty's connections with international researchers while fostering future collaborations in research and education.
