Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Students Receive an Award at the National Final Round of the Mitsubishi Electric Cup Automation 2026 (MECA 2026)
The National Final Round of the Mitsubishi Electric Cup Automation 2026 (MECA 2026) was successfully held at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry on July 10–11, 2026. Sponsored by Mitsubishi Electric Vietnam Co., Ltd. (MEV), the annual competition provides an academic platform for university and college students nationwide to foster research, innovation, and the practical application of automation technologies. The champion team will represent Vietnam at the international final round.
Representing Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) at the National Final was BT Auto, a team from the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The team consisted of four students majoring in Control and Automation Engineering: Bui Nguyen Ngoc Bao, Vo Duy Tan, Nguyen Thanh Tri, and Nguyen Nhat Khoi, under the supervision of Dr. Le Anh Tuan. At the competition, the team presented its project entitled "Bottle Sorting and Cleaning System," an automation solution designed to streamline the bottle sorting and cleaning process, thereby improving production efficiency while contributing to environmental protection.
MECA 2026 brought together teams from 15 leading Vietnamese universities specializing in engineering and automation, creating a highly competitive environment that showcased numerous innovative ideas and high-quality technical solutions. Before the judging panel, international experts, and distinguished guests, the members of BT Auto confidently presented their project, demonstrating solid technical knowledge, system design expertise, programming skills, and problem-solving capabilities.
Thanks to their dedicated preparation and outstanding performance, BT Auto was honored with the "Environmental Protection Solution Award," recognizing the project's creativity, practical applicability, and contribution to sustainable development.
For the team members, participating in MECA 2026 was not only a remarkable achievement but also a valuable opportunity to learn, exchange experiences with students from other universities, gain research experience, and enhance their professional competencies. Their success is expected to inspire more students of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering to pursue scientific research, master advanced technologies, and confidently participate in future national and international academic competitions.
