Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Organizes a Seminar on “Programming and Control of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)” for Students

On August 27, 2026, at Room A403, Ton Duc Thang University, the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (FEEE) successfully organized a seminar on “Programming and Control of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)” for students, with the participation of experts from Qualgo Technologies Vietnam Co., Ltd. The program served as a practical activity to strengthen collaboration between the University and industry, providing students with opportunities to gain access to professional knowledge, emerging technologies, and real-world requirements in the UAV field. Through the seminar, students explored an overview of UAV technology, including system architecture, software platforms, data, communications, programming, and UAV control.

During the seminar, industry experts shared insights into the process of transforming real-world challenges into UAV products, project development and implementation processes, technical challenges, and the competencies required of engineers working in this field. In particular, the technology demonstration and hands-on experience session provided students with a more practical understanding of UAV mission development, simulation, and deployment through the SkyTrack platform. Students were also introduced to the SkyTrack Hackathon 2026 – Sim Escape, a UAV software programming competition for students interested in UAVs, artificial intelligence (AI), IoT, and autonomous systems, with a total prize value of up to VND 45 million. In addition, the discussion session generated active interaction between students and industry experts, focusing on technology, scientific research, professional skills, recruitment requirements, and career opportunities in Control and Automation, Robotics, AI, Data Science, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and software development.

The seminar on “Programming and Control of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)” contributed to strengthening the connection between academic knowledge and industry practices, enabling students to broaden their knowledge, enhance their professional competencies, and gradually develop a product-oriented engineering mindset. Through hands-on activities and interactions with industry experts, students had opportunities to transform knowledge gained through learning and simulation into practical engineering challenges, while gaining clearer perspectives on their academic development, scientific research, and career pathways in UAVs and autonomous systems. The event also represents one of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering’s initiatives to expand industry collaboration, promote practice-oriented learning, and prepare students with the competencies needed to meet the demands of the rapidly evolving technology-driven labor market.
