Specialized Report: “Power Supply and Transmission Systems: Structure, Operation, and Technology Trends”

With the aim of helping students of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (FEEE) gain deeper insight into power systems - one of the core areas of Electrical Engineering - Ton Duc Thang University organized a specialized seminar on March 27, 2026, at Room C010. The seminar, titled “Power Supply and Transmission Systems: Structure, Operation, and Technology Trends,” was held to provide students with an overview of power systems and to update them on modern technological trends currently applied in the industry.

At the seminar, Dr. Pham Huu Ly, a lecturer from the Department of Electrical Engineering, delivered an in-depth presentation on the structure of Vietnam’s power system, covering generation, transmission, and distribution stages. He analyzed key transmission systems at voltage levels of 500kV, 220kV, and 110kV, along with critical technical issues such as system stability and grid protection. Notably, the seminar also emphasized emerging technological trends that are transforming the power sector, including Smart Grids, SCADA monitoring systems, and the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in system operation. In addition to technical knowledge, Dr. Pham Huu Ly shared practical experiences related to professional skills and interview strategies for students aiming to work in power supply and transmission organizations.

Through this seminar, students gained valuable knowledge, a clearer understanding of the structure and operating principles of power supply and transmission systems, and greater awareness of the role of electrical engineers in the context of rapidly advancing technology. The seminar concluded successfully, contributing to students’ academic orientation and better preparation for their future careers.
