Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering welcomes professor from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, discusses academic collaboration and hosts a seminar on semiconductor technology
On October 26, 2026, at Room C010, the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (FEEE), Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), welcomed Professor Wu-Ching Chou from the Department of Electrophysics, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (Taiwan). Representing FEEE at the event were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thanh Phuong, Dean of the Faculty, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Van Van, Vice Dean, together with faculty members, doctoral candidates, master's students, and undergraduate students. Professor Wu-Ching Chou has extensive research experience in semiconductor materials, particularly molecular beam epitaxy (MBE), with more than 300 scientific publications and significant contributions to the study of materials such as ZnO, GaN, and two-dimensional semiconductors.
As part of the program, Professor Wu-Ching Chou delivered a seminar entitled “Semiconductor Technology,” covering the history of semiconductor technology, heterostructure fabrication processes, material characterization methods, and semiconductor device fabrication technologies. In addition to presenting fundamental concepts, he shared recent research findings from his group, offering practical insights into emerging research directions and development trends in the semiconductor field. The seminar featured an open and engaging atmosphere, with numerous questions and in-depth discussions among the professor, faculty members, doctoral candidates, master's students, and undergraduates. The exchange helped participants broaden their specialized knowledge and explore potential research directions.
In addition to the academic seminar, FEEE and Professor Wu-Ching Chou discussed potential collaboration opportunities, including joint research activities and faculty and student exchanges. The program provided faculty members and students at various academic levels with an opportunity to gain deeper insights into semiconductor technology while strengthening international academic connections. It also opened up prospects for future collaboration between Ton Duc Thang University and National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University in research and education.
