Semi-final Round of the AIoT Developer InnoWorks 2025 Competition

On August 27, 2025, at Hall 10F, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (FEEE), in collaboration with Vietnamese - German University (VGU) and Advantech Group, solemnly organized the “Semi-final Round of the AIoT Developer InnoWorks 2025 Competition”. The event aimed to create an academic – industrial -entrepreneurial playground for students, encouraging the development of AIoT application solutions in smart manufacturing, energy and environment.

In attendance, on behalf of the sponsors, were Mr. Tran Kien – Deputy General Director of Advantech Vietnam and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Duyen Thao – General Director of Resolist Academy. From TDTU, the program was honored with the presence of Dr. Vo Hoang Duy – Vice President, Dr. Tran Thanh Phuong – Dean of FEEE, Dr. Nguyen Huu Khanh Nhan – Vice Dean of Faculty, and all the lecturers of FEEE. Representing VGU were Dr. Thomas Aulig – Vice President, Dr. Thai Truyen Dai Chan – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering in charge of Research, and Dr. La Vinh Trung – Head of the Office of Research Management. On behalf of the Competition Organizing Committee, there was also the participation of MSc. Nguyen Thi Hoai – Deputy Head of the Office of Research Management, VGU.

After a challenging preliminary round with nearly three months of online training on the WISE-IoT platform, the 18 best teams from 13 universities and academies across the country officially entered the semifinal. Here, the teams presented their projects directly to the judging panel comprised of experienced experts and lecturers from various universities. Speaking at the event, representing TDTU, Dr. Vo Hoang Duy emphasized the significance of InnoWorks in inspiring creativity and fostering a spirit of technological entrepreneurship among students. Representing VGU, Dr. Thomas Aulig expressed his belief that the competition would serve as an important bridge, helping students connect with real-world practice while strengthening academic collaboration between universities. During the program, the 18 teams that passed the semi-final round were awarded certificates and gifts by the Organizing Committee as a token of appreciation for their tireless efforts and passionate creativity. The atmosphere in the hall became more vibrant as the teams successively presented their outstanding ideas. After an intense competition, the judging panel selected the six best teams to advance to the Final Round, scheduled for November 5, 2025.

The Semifinal Round of InnoWorks 2025 was not only a convergence of knowledge and technology but also an opportunity for students to demonstrate their capability, passion, and ability to apply AIoT to practical problems. The event contributed to affirming the pioneering role of the FEEE, TDTU in connecting academia, research and industry, while fostering innovation and creativity towards sustainable student development.
