Wireless Communications Research Group (WiCOM)

Introduction:
The Wireless Telecommunications Research Group (WiCOM) is a research group funded and sponsored by Ton Duc Thang University and affiliated with the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. The goal of the WiCOM group is to develop research solutions for deploying 5G networks in the years 2020 to 2030. This can be achieved by reusing space based on the deployment of small cells. Several other solutions will be proposed to increase capacity based on bandwidth utilization, larger coverage areas, and information transmission using multiple antennas.

Mission and Vision:
Wireless communication networks enable interaction between users of different types of devices, mobile or fixed, and they are the foundation of the Internet. The mission of the WiCOM group is to conduct research worldwide, train graduates to create new technologies. As a pioneer in its field, WiCOM aims to become a leading research group in Vietnam. In particular, WiCOM aims to develop and apply new system models in the field of wireless communication. In collaboration with research groups at other high-quality universities, WiCOM aims to create products that receive the highest peer ratings.

Research topics include:
- Energy harvesting in cooperative communication networks
- Simultaneous information and power transmission in cognitive communication networks
- Device-to-device communication
- Massive MIMO technology
- Theory of Radio Access Techniques (RATs): SCMA/NOMA/GFDM/FBMC
