I. Introduction to the Program

The Mechatronics Engineering training program includes courses related to mechanical engineering, electronics, information technology, automatic control, as well as advanced technologies. Its aim is to train engineers capable of meeting workforce demands in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The main tasks of mechatronics engineers involve manufacturing and controlling robots applied in various fields; designing, installing, and operating advanced mechatronic systems in modern production lines. During their studies, students are taught by highly qualified lecturers and have opportunities to participate in research and product development alongside faculty members. In addition, students are trained in decision-making, problem-solving, independent thinking, and effective communication skills, enabling them to meet societal needs and pursue entrepreneurship.

II. Learning Outcomes
  • Creatively and systematically apply fundamental knowledge of political theory, national defense education, law, natural and social sciences in research and solving real-world problems.
  • Use English proficiently (achieve IELTS 5.5 or equivalent international English certificates) and office computing skills (achieve MOS certificate with 750 points) in study, communication, teaching, and research.
  • Analyze mechatronics theory and design basic mechatronic systems.
  • Apply specialized knowledge to routine processes in mechatronics engineering.
  • Analyze real-world issues that may arise in mechatronics engineering and select appropriate methods to solve unusual problems.
  • Improve and upgrade mechatronic systems.
  • Design, implement, and operate mechatronic systems.
  • Provide consultation, planning, management, and implementation of projects related to mechatronics.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, including teamwork, time management, and efficient resource management.

III. Career Opportunities

Graduates of Mechatronics Engineering can work in the following positions:

  • Research Institutes, Centers, Universities: Researcher at institutes such as the Institute of Electronics–Automation–Mechatronics, Institute of Technology Applications, high-tech zones; lecturer or researcher at universities specializing in mechanical–mechatronics engineering in Vietnam.
  • Domestic and international manufacturing enterprises across all fields: Design engineers, operation and maintenance engineers in modern industrial production lines such as automobile assembly, automation in aviation, power plants, food processing factories, construction material production lines, consumer electronics manufacturing, robotics, etc.
  • Technical consulting enterprises, mechanical–mechatronics equipment businesses, or technology transfer companies: Consultants, designers, simulation analysts providing technological solutions tailored to the needs of production, business, or administrative units.
  • Technical support staff or product representatives for corporations manufacturing mechanical–mechatronics equipment.
