On May 11-13, 2024, the final round of the contest "Students with Start-up Ideas" organized by the Ministry of Education and Training took place at Can Tho University. A group of students from the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Ton Duc Thang University includes Pham Khanh Phong, Duong Chan Viet, Le Huynh Tuan Kiet, and Tran Troy with the idea of "Map system to guide escape in case of fire" excellently won the Consolation Prize of the competition.
The group of students implemented their ideas under the guidance of lecturer Dr. Vu Tri Vien, Dr. Huynh Van Van, and MSc. Phan Thanh Tai. The project's product is a fire detection system and fire location; gives instructions to help the victim find a safe escape route; and automatically activate the fire extinguishing system; notifying the status and trend of fire spread helps authorities quickly make appropriate action plans. Besides, instructions are displayed in the form of directional lights along the corridor; the 3D building model integrates images, location and fire level at the building management center or guidance app on the phone. Based on the project's products, residents in the fire area can escape quickly and safely. The authorities can quickly receive and implement timely fire fighting plans, thereby minimizing the loss of people and property.
The contest "Students with Start-up ideas" brings great opportunities for competing teams to access investment opportunities as well as practical and practical knowledge. The contest truly become an annual activity that attracts the attention of a large number of students nationwide, educational institutions, and businesses.
