On the morning of July 18th, 2024, at hall A403, the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (FEEE) of Ton Duc Thang University held the "Signing ceremony of cooperation and receiving sponsorship of microchip design laboratory equipment from Gowin Semiconductor Company (Hong Kong)” and training on how to use Gowin FPGA Designer software for lecturers and students of the FEEE.
The ceremony took place with the presence of representatives from all parties, from Gowin Semiconductor Company there was Mr. Stanley Tse - Director of Asia Gowin, Mr. Jack Yeh – Advanced Application Management, supporting the university program of Gowin, and Mr. Nguyen Trong Van, Chief Representative of Gowin Vietnam. Representatives of Trace-Tec Viet Nam Company Limited are Mr. Nguyen Duy Chung - Director, Mr. Ha Ngoc Minh - FPGA Research and Development Engineer. Regarding Ton Duc Thang university has Mr. Tang Khac Quy - Director of the Center of Enterprise Cooperation and Alumni. The FEEE, Dr. Tran Thanh Phuong - Vice Dean in Charge of FEEE, Dr. Nguyen Huu Khanh Nhan – Vice Dean of Faculty, Dr. Huynh Van Van – Vice Dean of Faculty, and. Especially the presence of lecturers and more than 150 students of the FEEE.
Gowin Semiconductor is a corporation specializing in semiconductor circuit design with diverse products such as programmable logic components, intellectual property (IP) cores, design software tools (EDA), and KITs development products etc. Gowin Semiconductor Company Limited has agreed to sponsor the FEEE, Ton Duc Thang University with 25 Licenses for 05 years of use of the software along with a set of microchip design laboratory equipment instructions and 05 FPGA Kits using GOWIN microchips, with a total sponsorship value of about 14,500 USD (equivalent to 362,500,000 VND). The purpose is to promote research activities, technology transfer, equipment funding, exchange and training of students and lecturers of the FEEE.
Signing ceremony of cooperation and receiving sponsorship of microchip design laboratory equipment from Gowin Semiconductor Company and Ton Duc Thang University was successful. Not only that, but the students were also introduced to the microchip design process as well as training on how to use Gowin FPGA Designer software, Kit ACG-525, and exploit Gowin's microchip design resources for lecturers and students of the FEEE. Hopefully, the useful information and knowledge will support students in their studies and future careers.
