Seminar on “Applying MATLAB & AI to Enhance Teaching, Research, and Engineering System Development”

With the aim of providing lecturers and students with opportunities to explore emerging technological trends in simulation, design, and engineering system development based on the MATLAB/Simulink platform, on June 9, 2026, at Meeting Room C010, the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (FEEE), Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), in collaboration with experts from TechSource Systems and Ascendas Systems Group, organized a seminar entitled “Applying MATLAB & AI to Enhance Teaching, Research, and Engineering System Development.”

The seminar was attended by the Faculty Board members, lecturers from the Department of Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering, and a large number of students from the FEEE. The event was especially enriched by the participation and insightful presentations of experienced technology experts, including Mr. Nguyen Minh Ngoc (Account Manager) and Mr. Duong Quang Huy (Application Engineer), representing TechSource Systems and Ascendas Systems Group.

During the seminar, the speakers introduced the latest development trends in the MATLAB/Simulink ecosystem for education and scientific research. Participants had the opportunity to explore next-generation artificial intelligence tools developed by MathWorks, including MATLAB Copilot, Simulink Copilot, and Agentic AI. They also gained insights into AI applications for programming assistance, model development, source code verification, error detection, and optimization of engineering systems.

Furthermore, the experts shared various practical applications in electrical and electronic engineering, automation and control, energy systems, and intelligent systems through representative topics such as Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Battery Thermal Management System, Building Your Virtual Vehicle Simulation, and Guide to Agentic AI. The seminar also included an interactive discussion session, allowing lecturers and students to exchange ideas, ask questions, and receive direct feedback from the experts.

The seminar served not only as a valuable academic bridge that strengthened collaboration between the FEEE and industry partners, but also demonstrated the Faculty’s commitment to proactively adopting emerging technologies and continuously improving the quality of education and scientific research. Through this seminar, the organizers hope that the knowledge and practical experiences shared by the experts will inspire students to pursue lifelong learning, enhance their digital competencies, and be well-prepared to meet the increasing demands of modern engineering environments and international accreditation standards.
