On the afternoon of May 25, 2026, at Meeting Room B010, Ton Duc Thang University, the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (FEEE) warmly welcomed a delegation of lecturers and students from VSB – Technical University of Ostrava (Czech Republic) for an academic exchange and seminar on Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV/Drone) Technology. The event was part of the Faculty’s international collaboration activities, aiming to expand academic connections, promote professional knowledge exchange, and strengthen research collaboration opportunities between the two institutions.
Representing VSB – Technical University of Ostrava were Dr. Martin Pies and Dr. Radovan Hajovsky, lecturers from the Faculty of Cybernetics and Biomedical Engineering, along with students Ondrej Binar, Vaclav Janus, Alexander Kudela, and Martin Slanina. Representing the FEEE were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Van Van, Vice Dean of the Faculty, and Dr. Tran Thanh Nam, Head of the URLAB Research Group, together with faculty students. The exchange took place in a friendly and open atmosphere, reflecting the Faculty’s growing emphasis on international academic cooperation.
During the seminar, the delegation from VSB – Technical University of Ostrava shared in-depth insights into the development trends of UAV/Drone technology, including operating principles and practical applications in industry, smart agriculture, logistics, environmental monitoring, and digital transformation. VSB students also introduced their research projects, experimental models, and hands-on experiences in designing, manufacturing, and controlling unmanned aerial vehicles, providing vivid and practical perspectives from real-world research activities. The discussion session that followed saw enthusiastic participation from both sides, focusing on career orientation, research opportunities, and prospects for international academic collaboration.
Beyond the academic activities, the exchange also provided an opportunity for students from both universities to connect and share experiences about their learning environments and cultures, thereby enhancing international communication skills and broadening global perspectives. The event concluded with many positive impressions, contributing to the strengthening of the cooperative relationship between the FEEE and VSB – Technical University of Ostrava, while opening up further opportunities for academic exchange and future development.
