In order to provide students with opportunities to gain exposure to corporate environments and enhance their practical learning experiences, on the morning of May 8, 2026, the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (FEEE), Ton Duc Thang University organized an industry field trip to IGUS Vietnam Co., Ltd. for EEE students. The program was implemented as part of the Faculty’s orientation toward strengthening collaboration between the University and industry partners, thereby helping students access modern technologies, professional working environments, and future career opportunities.
The field trip was attended by 25 students under the guidance of MSc. Nguyen Ho. During the visit, students were introduced to the overall operations of IGUS Vietnam as well as technological solutions currently applied in automation and modern industry. In particular, students learned about self-lubricating plastic materials — a core technology developed by Igus (Germany) and widely used worldwide to improve operational efficiency, reduce friction, and optimize maintenance costs in mechanical and automation systems.
Throughout the program, students also had the opportunity to directly observe and experience the operation of Delta robots and lightweight 5-axis collaborative robots (cobots) manufactured using self-lubricating plastic materials. These advanced devices demonstrated the latest technological trends in robotics and industrial automation. The hands-on experience helped students gain deeper insights into technology development trends, equipment operation processes, and the professional skill requirements of modern engineering workplaces.
In addition to accessing new technologies, the field trip provided students with valuable opportunities to connect theoretical knowledge learned at the University with practical applications in industry. The activity also contributed to enhancing students’ professional awareness, technical skills, and industrial working style. Furthermore, the program strengthened the cooperative relationship between the FEEE and industry partners in promoting practice-oriented education, aiming to prepare high-quality engineering human resources capable of meeting the demands of modern industry and digital transformation.
