Graduate admission - Master - Automation and Control Engineering

I. PROGRAM INTRODUCTION

Automation and Control Engineering Master Program trains human resources with good knowledge in fundamental sciences and basic techniques; creative thinking for solving scientific and technological problems in automation and control engineering; solving practical requirements in automatic system design and practice; having assurance, clarity in research method for developing professional knowledge, combining with team working and international standard working skills.

II. THE EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES:

- Understand and identify key problems to solve in scientific research; select the suitable methods and solutions for the problem; know how to deploy and modify the solution in the process of practical application.

- Advanced knowledge and understanding of the scientific methodology in control theory, production automation; system identification; robot design and control.

- Understand and apply procedures, principles, research methods, design techniques, control programming and operation automation systems proficiently; for example, PLC, SCADA, industrial communication standards-based systems, drive systems, industrial automation equipment.

- Ability to find new technique, technology to create new solutions or equipment for the field of automation and control engineering.

III. CAREER OPPORTUNITIES:

- Artificial intelligence: applications in industry, agriculture, food, medicine…

- Industrial communication networks: Flexible Manufacturing System, Computer-Integrated Manufacturing, Modular Production System…

- Power electronics & electrical drives: PWM techniques, multi-pulse rectifier & multi-level inverter, distributed power generation system, wireless power transfer, solid-state transformer, HVDC transmission technology, modern control methods, observers, parameter identification (PMSM, IM…), saving energy, …

- Renewable energy: control/supervise solar cell systems, wind turbine systems

- Image and video processing / computer vision: develop the signal processing algorithm for speed, image, video signals, especially for IoT application development.

- Control theory: Bayesian artificial intelligence, machine learning, neural networks, nonlinear and adaptive control, optimal and robust control, intelligent control, multivariable control

- Metrology: applications in semiconductor technology, precision mechanics, bio-medicine, food…

V. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  9. Health check report from the official clinic or hospital within the last 6 months
  10. English Language Proficiency:

English is medium of instruction for the master's program: TOEIC 600, TOEFL iBT 50, IELTS 5.5, PET/FCE 160 (English certificates must be valid for two years from your test date up to the application date) or Proof of bachelor/master program taught in English language.

Vietnamese is medium of instruction for the master's program: TOEIC 500, TOEFL iBT 45, IELTS 4.5, PET/FCE 140 (English certificates must be valid for two years from your test date up to the application date) or Proof of bachelor/master program taught in English language.

1. The tuition fee for Master program

- Tuition fee for the master courses (Vietnamese program): $2200/2-year 

-  Tuition fee for the master courses (English program): $5000/2-year 

2. Dormitory fee:

3. Living expense in TDTU, Ho Chi Minh city:

Approximately $150/month (for food, transportation and communication...)
