Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering Organizes a Seminar on “Wireless, Contactless Sensing Technology for Monitoring Cardiac Tissue Activity”
To provide students with opportunities to explore advanced technologies and emerging research trends in micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS), sensing technologies, and biomedical engineering, the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (FEEE), Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), organized a seminar entitled “Wireless, Contactless Sensing Technology and Its Applications in Monitoring Cardiac Tissue Activity” on October 29, 2026. The seminar took place in the Meeting Room on the 5th Floor of the University Library.
The event was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Van Van, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, together with faculty members and students of the Faculty. The seminar featured Dr. Nguyen Thanh Vinh, Senior MEMS Design Engineer at FormFactor Inc., USA, as the guest speaker.
During the seminar, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Vinh introduced the fundamental principles and methodologies of wireless, contactless sensing technologies for monitoring the contractile activity of cardiac tissue. His presentation highlighted the potential of advanced sensing solutions for biological activity monitoring while exploring the integration of electrical and electronic engineering, MEMS technology, and biomedical engineering. Through this session, students gained insights into promising interdisciplinary research directions that bridge engineering knowledge with practical applications in healthcare.
In addition to the technical presentation, the seminar featured an engaging discussion and Q&A session, during which students actively exchanged ideas and raised questions with the speaker. Various topics related to sensing technologies, practical implementation, and potential research directions were discussed, helping broaden students' knowledge and inspire their interest in scientific research. On this occasion, representatives of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering also held discussions with Dr. Nguyen Thanh Vinh on research orientations and potential collaboration opportunities in education, scientific research, and technological development.
Through this seminar, the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering continues to strengthen the integration of academic education with practical applications while expanding connections with experts and technology enterprises both domestically and internationally. The event also provided faculty members and students with opportunities to update their professional knowledge, gain valuable research insights from an international expert, and explore further collaboration in advanced technologies and interdisciplinary research.
