Abstract

Renewable energy development is gaining momentum, and a noticeable uptick in constructing solar power plants linked to grids has occurred. There are benefits to this trend in lessening the negative impacts of energy derived from fossil fuels. Unfortunately, these solar facilities’ haphazard and disorganized installation has resulted in line overloading, which has raised power losses throughout the entire electrical grid. One solution is cutting down the power output of these photovoltaic solar (PV) plants to avoid line overloading and minimize power loss on the grid. This study has suggested a strategy for the power curtailment to achieve the stated goals and adhere to the system restrictions using the War strategy optimization algorithm (WSOA). The findings show that optimal cutdown PV power output decreases total power loss and avoids overload on distribution lines.
