International Review on Modelling and Simulations (IREMOS)
The paper proposes an improved Current-Based Model Reference Adaptive System (CB-MRAS) for sensorless speed control of the induction motor drive. The nonlinear relationship between the quantities of three-phase induction motors and the typical CB-MRAS technique for motor speed estimation are presented briefly. An improved CB-MRAS method integrating the stator resistance estimation is proposed to be applied to the sensorless speed control technique for the induction motor drive. The performance characteristics of induction motor drive in sensorless speed control corresponding to the typical CB-MRAS method and the improved CB-MRAS with stator resistance changing are investigated and compared in the Matlab/Simulink environment. The simulation results are analyzed to prove the feasibility of the proposed CB-MRAS integrating stator resistance estimation method in motor speed control.
