At 1:00 PM on June 12, 2025, the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (FEEE) at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), in collaboration with RoboBoss Company, hosted the “UAV Experience Day for Students”. The event offered a dynamic and practical technology playground, providing valuable career orientation for engineering students, particularly those interested in automation, robotics, and drone technology.
The event kicked off in a lively atmosphere, with students eagerly participating in drone piloting contests using DJI flycams. They had hands-on access to a wide range of drones—from entry-level to professional models—and the chance to operate both remote-controlled and autonomous robots developed by RoboBoss. These experiences gave students a closer look at the real-world applications of modern technologies across fields such as electrical engineering, construction, agriculture, logistics, and game development.
Following the experience session, a workshop and sharing session took place featuring industry professionals. Dr. Vu Tri Vien, Head of the Department of Automation and Control Engineering at FEEE, opened with a message of gratitude to RoboBoss and other tech partners for their support in creating such a meaningful, practice-based academic platform.
Content creator Huu Vuong (Huu Vuong Cine) shared personal insights into building a content channel, leveraging drone technology in media production, and developing a personal brand through storytelling. He emphasized the importance of creatively utilizing accessible technologies, such as auto-tracking and aerial videography, to tell compelling and authentic stories. A mini-game of Kahoot followed, energizing the audience with a fun and interactive experience.
Next, Mr. Ngo Quoc Kim Long, R&D Director of RoboBoss and CEO of Sumo Solution Vietnam, delivered a highly informative talk. Drawing from his extensive experience in deploying drone, AI, and robotics solutions, he presented cutting-edge applications in high-voltage grid monitoring, solar farm maintenance, industrial safety, and remote operations. “Drones are no longer just a trend—they’re essential tools in almost every industry,” he noted. He also highlighted Vietnam’s growing potential in VR gaming and game outsourcing, where drone-based 3D mapping and AI are integrated into virtual environments. Vietnam currently ranks among the top three game outsourcing countries in the world, alongside South Korea and China.
The event concluded with an exciting lucky draw, with the top prize being a high-end ASUS ProArt monitor—a dream reward for students passionate about digital creativity and content production.
"UAV Experience Day for Students" was more than just a tech showcase. It was an inspirational and insightful journey that bridged theory with practice, helping students broaden their career perspectives, fuel their creativity, and embrace technology as active learners in the digital era.
