Nearly 1,000 students from three high schools include Phan Dang Luu High School, Ernst Thälmann High School, and Nguyen Thai Binh High School (Ho Chi Minh City) enthusiastically participated in the on-site university admissions counseling and the "Remote-Controlled Robot Assembly" competition organized by the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) from March 1 to May 17, 2025. The program not only provided useful admissions information but also offered students hands-on experience with advanced technical skills, sparking their interest in science and technology at an early stage.
At the beginning of the program, students were warmly welcomed with sincere and relatable sharing from Dr. Huynh Van Van and Dr. Nguyen Huu Khanh Nhan - Vice Deans of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering along side the team of faculty members in the admissions advisory board. In addition to delivering career information, the lecturers conveyed a meaningful message about the vital role of science and technology in the modern era and encouraged students to foster proactive learning and creativity to be well-prepared for future challenges.
The highlight of the event was the "Remote-Controlled Robot Assembly" competition, where students transformed into young, confident engineers. Guided by dedicated lecturers and students from the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, students from each school were divided into teams and given a robot kit designed by the Faculty. Each team assembled and programmed their robot using the Arduino platform and then controlled it via smartphone using Bluetooth connectivity. Through hands-on practice, students not only approached modern technical knowledge but also honed their logical thinking, teamwork, and creativity.
After an exciting period of competition, the organizers awarded 3 First Prizes, 2 Second Prizes, and 2 Third Prizes to the best-performing teams at each school. However, the most valuable outcome was not the rankings, but the spirit of learning, the bonds formed, and the joy the students carried with them after the experience.
This series of activities served as an effective bridge between the university and high school students, encouraging them to confidently pursue their passions and shape their future career paths. The Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Ton Duc Thang University firmly believes that the seeds of passion sown today will grow and flourish in the near future.
