Hackathon Round - TDTU START UP WINGS 2023 competition

On the morning of January 7, 2023, at building 10F, a competition was held to provide entrepreneurship skills to help students turn their ideas into actual products, thereby making life better and better. That is the TDTU START UP WINGS 2023 competition – Hackathon round organized by the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (FEEE) in collaboration with the Center of Enterprise Cooperation and Alumni (CECA) and BGS Global Vietnam.

          The competition was attended by a jury board including Dr. Tran Thanh Phuong – Vice Dean of the FEEE, Dr. Huynh Van Van – Assistant Dean of the FEEE, Dr. Nguyen Van Dung – Lecturer of Control and Automation Department, MSc. Huynh Thi Cam Linh - Official of the CECA. BGS Globall side, there was Mr. Truong Quoc Bao - Deputy General Director, Ms. Dang Thi Thuy Phuong - a representative member and 15 teams of students participating in the competition. Each team had about 5 minutes to present their project, from introducing the product to explaining its advantages, competitiveness, process, and price of making a product with the selling price in the market, types of potential product customers include individual, business, or corporate customers. Projects were diverse from “The floating table that can lift objects” of the Clover team for individual customers to “Forecasting of wind power plant generation capacity” of the Wind Hill team for business customers. In addition, some projects serving social security such as "The water purifier" of Newater team and many other projects that served social needs. After each team of presentations, the jury board highly commented on projects that could bring benefits to customers. In addition, the projects still have problems such as not having a clear analysis of costs, not identifying potential customers, lacking a business plan, the applicability is not high to legal inadequacies regarding customer information collection.

          At the end of the contest, Mr. Truong Quoc Bao had a brief comment on how teams summarized the ideas, goals, and meanings in accordance with the criteria of the organizer. the judges have selected 12 teams to enter the next round, and 3 teams needed to consider additional shortcomings. The comments of the judges helped the students closely follow reality and understand the weak point to solve or take alternative measures, thereby getting closer to the realization of the ideas.
