To help students gain exposure to real-world enterprises and orient their future careers in the field of electronics and semiconductor design, on October 28, 2025, a group of 50 students from the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (FEEE), Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU), led by Dr. Ha Duy Hung, participated in a field trip to RENESAS Design Vietnam Co., Ltd., located in Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone, Ho Chi Minh City.
At the beginning of the visit, representatives from RENESAS Vietnam gave an overview of the company’s history, main business areas, and core products, helping students better understand RENESAS’s position in the global semiconductor design industry. Next, the company’s Human Resources Department shared detailed information about recruitment programs, qualification standards for engineers, and the professional skills and personal attributes that the company seeks — particularly in students majoring in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. In the technical presentation, representatives from the departments introduced their main responsibilities, working processes, and the role of engineers in each design division. This provided students with a clearer understanding of the connection between academic theory and real-world applications in the high-tech industry. After this, the students toured various departments of the company and observed the actual working environment of RENESAS engineers.
The trip concluded with a Q&A session between students and company representatives. Many questions were raised about career opportunities, professional development, and the international working environment, all answered in an open and inspiring manner. At the end of the session, representative of the FEEE presented the souvenir gifts to RENESAS Vietnam as a token of appreciation. The field trip to RENESAS Vietnam not only broadened students’ understanding of semiconductor design and embedded software development but also served as a valuable opportunity to help them build a solid foundation and prepare for their future careers in a professional working environment.
