On January 9, 2020, at the Inspirational Library, Ton Duc Thang University took place a meeting between students of Newcastle University, one of Australia's 10 best schools and students of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The exchange was aimed at exchanging professional knowledge, understanding cultures between the two sides and academic issues in the field of Electrical - Electronics and this is also an opportunity to meet and exchange between Vietnamese students and international students, to enhance understanding of foreign culture and people; help students have basic knowledge and skills to become global citizens in the future.
After an introduction to Vietnamese culture and traditions and an overview of Ton Duc Thang University, students are divided into 6 groups, each group of 4-5 people, including both Australian and Vietnamese students. The team members worked together in groups, analyzing, discussing, finding solutions and presenting in the plenary session on one of the topics related to the discipline such as: Indoor navigation system for mobile robots based on QR code image processing; Traffic congestion monitoring/avoidence system; Domestic waste classification system; Solar power automatic irrigation system; IoT framework for pervasive monotoring of chemical emission in industrial plants; Study of the use of LoRa in the development of smart cities; etc… There are many unique and creative ideas put forward in this group work and presentation.
The meeting closed with a lot of promising cooperation and development in the coming time between Australian and Vietnamese students as well as strengthening training cooperation programs between the two universities, Newcastle University and Ton Duc Thang University. Moreover, the exchange also gives students a time to experience, learn interesting and memorable.
