On October 30, 2024, the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) successfully held an academic collaboration and symposium with the participation of Professors from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NCYU) and Tamkang University, Taiwan. This event is part of TDTU's strategy to expand international cooperation, providing opportunities for students to acquire new knowledge and access advanced research.
The program took place from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Meeting Room C and Room A403, featuring two main parts: an academic exchange between faculty leaders and lecturers, followed by thematic presentations for students. Representatives from NCYU included Prof. Dr. Shun-Jen Cheng, Prof. Dr. Wu-Ching Chou, and Prof. Dr. Chih-Wei Luo, along with Prof. Dr. Chung-Li Dong from Tamkang University.
During the presentations, the professors shared prominent research topics, including ultrafast dynamics of quantum materials, epitaxy mechanisms of two-dimensional structures, and atomic structures of energy materials. Notably, Prof. Dr. Chung-Li Dong from Tamkang University introduced scholarship opportunities for TDTU students and presented on “Atomic and electronic structures of energy materials studied by x-ray spectroscopies.” These presentations provided students with valuable knowledge and international learning opportunities.
After the presentations, TDTU students engaged in a lively Q&A session with the professors, asking questions about the practical applications of quantum materials and epitaxy technology in semiconductor manufacturing and renewable energy, as well as scholarship and research opportunities in Taiwan. The professors enthusiastically answered, sharing insights on the current challenges and future potential of these technologies.
The event concluded with an exchange of gifts, commemorative photos, and positive reflections. The success of the program not only provided useful knowledge but also opened promising avenues for international collaboration, connecting TDTU students and faculty with experts and advanced educational environments.
