Master program of Communications Engineering

1. Introduction

The Master Program in Communications Engineering is designed for graduates of bachelor’s programs in electronics and telecommunications engineering or related fields who are currently employed in private companies, public agencies, and not-for-profit organizations that are operating in the field of telecommunications. The Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (FEEE) at Ton Duc Thang University is proposing the creation of the Communications Engineering (CE) graduate degree program, with the goals of preparing FEEE graduates to join a high-quality educated workforce for telecommunications, an area of national and international need. Employment for the research and design units at the national and international telecommunication corporation, as well as the team of professors and researchers in academic institutions must obtain high level of knowledge to satisfy the demand of the field. 

The creation of graduate degrees in Communications Engineering will contribute to meeting the strategic goals of the university by providing affordable, accessible, and pedagogically-structured education and research programs. The formalized degree programs will provide research opportunities for graduate students to contribute to the development of the country and to achieve the vision of the university to become a top-level research university as well.

Political knowledge

- Know, understand and present principles, categories, rules of dialectics and be applicable in realistic analysis.

- Ability to understand the ideology as well as current policies of the government.

Scientific research

- Understand and be able to determine the main problems to solve in scientific research; select the appropriate methodology and solutions for the problem; be able to implement the solutions and adjust them during the practical applying process.

Specialist knowledge

Advanced knowledge and information about Communications Engineering

- Advanced knowledge and understanding of the scientific methodology on information theory, signal processing, data communication networks, link analysis, electronic devices and integrated circuit design, transmitter and receiver design.

- Understand and be able to apply the procedures, principles, research methods, design and programming techniques to control and operate the communication systems; such as computer networks, data networks, mobile communication networks, optical communication and satellite communication systems, video broadcasting systems …

- Identify, analyze, evaluate, and apply the knowledge to operate and improve the communication systems.

- Ability to analyze, process the problems in communications engineering.

- Have the ability to do research independently; creative and confident in designing the new transmitter and receiver for communications; or propose and evaluate the performance of the new communication approaches.

- Ability to find new technology to create new solutions or equipment for communications engineering.
